ECB'S Villeroy: won't delay policy normalization on government debt concerns

Continuing with his keynote speech at an event of the Global Interdependence Center's Central Banking Series, in Paris, the ECB Governing Council member Francois Villeroy de Galhau said that the central bank won't delay policy normalization on government debt concerns.

   •  Without doubt our communication will be adjusted given that current rates guidance is explicitly conditioned on the end of net asset purchases.
   •  We could give additional guidance on timing of first rate hike.
   •  Well past meaning at least some quarters but not years.
